MSJ Fans

13 November 2008

Dear MSJ Parents/Guardians and Friends:

Thank you for your commitment to MSJ athletes and all of their endeavors. As I review the Fall Sports Season and as MSJ enters the Winter Sports Season, a few reminders are needed.

It is my firm conviction that MSJ athletes as a whole work to the best of their abilities to achieve excellence. In a spirit of affirmation of both individual athletes and MSJ’s teams, it is important that all remarks from the bleachers and/or to individual athletes or teams about the performance of individual athletes and/or about an MSJ team remain positive and supportive. Also, comments about other teams and their athletes always should be in the spirit of good sportsmanship.

As you are well aware, MSJ’s athletic program could not succeed without the unconditional support of the Mount’s coaches, parents/guardians and friends. Mr. McDonough, MSJ Athletic Director, and a committee of Athletic Association members strive to find for MSJ teams the best coaches available. It is our responsibility as fans of our teams to remain positive and supportive of our coaches. Disparaging comments about coaches are inappropriate.

Also, coaches, with the prior approval of the MSJ athletic director, may enlist the assistance of MSJ parents/guardians and friends to help them organize and execute various team-related tasks. These tasks could include equipment detail and the end-of-season banquet, among numerous other needs. Unless otherwise noted by the coach with the prior approval of the athletic director, the appropriate place during all practices and games for all MSJ parents/guardians and friends is in the bleachers.

Thank you in advance for your sincere cooperation in the above matters and for your continued support of the MSJ sports program.

If you have any questions or concerns, or if you need any clarification about MSJ athletics and/or good sportsmanship, please contact Mr. McDonough. I look forward to seeing you at this season’s basketball and hockey games.

Best regards,

Paolo E. Zancanaro, MA

Pray for the World, MSJ, Your Family and Nation

Beginning this Friday (and every Friday that school is in session), the local chapter of the Legion of Mary will pray before the Blessed Sacrament from 12:00 - 2:45. Sincere, committed prayer is a powerful force in the world. If you are willing to pray before the Blessed Sacrament at a given time on a Friday, please contact Mrs. Liscinky at dliscinsky@msjvermont.org. Offer your prayer for the world, our school, your family and our nation.

All Souls Day Memorial Names

Students, faculty and staff remember at daily prayer in November the names of those who have died. If you would like your deceased loved ones remembered in prayer, please send an email with the names that you would like listed in our Memorial Book of Names. Send your email to dliscinsky@msjvermont.org. Emails should be sent by 31 October. Also, they may be sent throughout the month of November.
